Hog basketball

 I had a chance to see the Red and White game.  The biggest problem Arkansas has had is the lack of size and inside presence (rebounding and block shots).  There is no question Arkansas has shooter....allot of them.  But, when shooters are not hitting their shots what do you do?  You post up and force teams to the middle to open the outside up.  Who on Arkansas is going to help this year?  Well, let's look at the potential list of inside men. 1.   Abayomi Iyiola 6'9'' F.  What you like about him:  Has long arms.  Concerns:  He needs work.  Not very fast going down the court.  Not great at posting up.  Could develop into a shot blocker but that will take some time.  Very weak with the ball and bring it down low too much making it easy for smaller guys to steal the ball. 2.  Emeka Obukwelu 6'8'' F.  What you like about him:  Very strong young man with great work ethic.  Loves to go g...

Arkansas To Unveil Nolan Richardson Court Oct. 20

Is it good enough???  In my opinion.....NO. He had the most wins of ANY program in the 90's.  Nolan was not only the most successful coach in Arkansas basketball history but he did it while dealing with the hatred and racism that came from this state's fan base.  Many fans of none color called his style of play "N" ball and felt it would NEVER work at Arkansas.  Ironically, when he started winning it was partially because of what Eddie Sutton established at Arkansas.  If that were the case would he have not won his first two years?  I do give credit for what Eddie did.  However, his accomplishments at Arkansas have ZERO to do with Nolan's success.  The real funny thing to me is that this very fan base glorified in his firing all over the comment that was directed towards the reporter not the fans.  Yet, fans took it personal and perhaps he gave them what they wanted. TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – For the first time in program history, head coach Lance Harter and the top-ranked women’s cross country team have captured the NCAA Cross Country title. The Razorbacks won by six points, finishing with 96 after a third-place mark by Katie Izzo at 19:59.3. She was followed closely by Taylor Werner, who posted a fourth-place time at 20:11.1. Devin Clark (21st) and Carina Viljoen (28th) rounded out Arkansas All-America honorees with times of 20:32.2 and 20:39.8, respectively, while Lauren Gregory completed Arkansas’ scoring unit with a time of 21:05.0. “This is the crowning achievement,” Harter said. “They just followed the race plan perfectly.
