TREY BIDDY | 1-0 overall, 0-1 against the spread
Arkansas can win this game, but I think they need to jump out to a lead early, get some confidence and keep Ole Miss off-balance. Neither team looked good last weekend on offense, but this will still be a night game on the road in the SEC. That means something. Young teams have to figure out how to win on the road. It's something that's learned through experience, and this is their first realistic opportunity for a road win...other than at Colorado State last season. I have a tendency to go with the home team if I think it'll be close, and that's what I'm doing here...I do think Arkansas can win the game and maybe even should. I'm torn enough that I think they will win...but I'm picking them to lose... Ole Miss 29, Arkansas 24
DANNY WEST | 1-0 overall, 0-1 against the spread
I'm going to assume Arkansas' Week 1 struggles was a result of: having 11 new offensive starters compared to last year's season opener; untimely drops from a freshman wide receiver and the backup tight end; uncharacteristic clock management before half; not wanting to show Ole Miss too much of the playbook, and perhaps even looking ahead to Ole Miss. On the other side, I think the Rebels have very serious quarterback issues with Matt Corral, who completed just 1 of 5 passing attempts on third down last week. The Rebels also had 5 rushing attempts on third down and netted -6 yards. I think Nick Starkel takes over this week, but the star of the game will be Rakeem Boyd and the Hogs winning on third downs. PETE ROULIER | 1-0 overall, 0-1 against the spread
The ability to extend plays and the escapability of Corral has to scare any Hog fan. Although he only completed nine of his 19 attempted passes for 93 yards and threw an interception in the Rebs' season opener loss against the Memphis Tigers, 15-10, the Razorbacks have struggled with mobile quarterbacks in the recent past. Ole Miss' redshirt-freshman quarterback won't be impressive, but he will make the plays necessary to push the Rebels over the top. Boyd will have a big day, but the Razorback offense struggled to put the ball in the end zone against FCS-level Portland State, and until they show me otherwise, I don't think they will put up enough points to pull out the victory.
