Four-star shooting guard Moses Moody has committed to Arkansas.
Moody, 6-5, 180, went public with his pledge to the Razorbacks during an open ceremony at Arkansas Fitness & Athletics in Little Rock (Ark.) at approximately 6 p.m. on Saturday. The Little Rock native, who has attended Montverde Academy in Florida for over a year, chose Arkansas over other finalists Michigan and Virginia.
Moody also held scholarship offers from Ohio State, Kansas, Auburn, Florida, Oregon, Oklahoma, Texas and many others. He is Arkansas’ second verbal commitment for the Class of 2020, joining guard Davonte Davis of Jacksonville (Ark.). Moody could choose to make it official with Arkansas in the early signing period, which begins next Wednesday, November 13, or remain unsigned until the spring signing period.
Following his official visit with Eric Musselman and the Razorbacks in late October, Moody spoke about pro development being a major factor in his decision. Musselman’s first-year Arkansas staff made that aspect a point of emphasis in their recruitment of Moody.
“I would say Coach (Musselman) having his pro experience, I could see all that in his meetings,” Moody said. “The main thing they pitched about getting me ready was the pro experience. He’s coached in the pros, he has connections and just the stuff he knows, I could tell from watching the practice what he can do."
247Sports Director of Basketball Scouting Jerry Meyer sees a lot of positives in Moody's game.
"Has length with an enormous wingspan for a wing," Meyer said in his notes. "Smooth athlete but not an overly explosive athlete. High quality shooting is his greatest strength. Very good shooter off the catch. Dribble game and playmaking are improving. Has the size and anticipation to be a good defender. Solid rebounder. Length and shooting ability bode well for his future. Projects as a first-round draft choice."
With Moody and Davis now in the boat, Musselman and the Hogs can turn more of their focus to three other in-state targets in four-star power forward Chris Moore of West Memphis, four-star center Jaylin Williams of Fort Smith Northside, and four-star guard KK Robinson, who is originally from Bryant but now attends Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson (Va.).

Additionally, the Razorbacks are awaiting a decision from four-star power forward Keon Ambrose-Hylton of Andrews Osborne Academy in Toronto, and are still in the mix for four-star wing Kyree Walker, who has chosen to leave Hillcrest Prep in Arizona and plans to either join a college program or play overseas at midterm.
Musselman and the current Hogs are off to a 1-0 start after beating Rice this past Tuesday. The Razorbacks return to action against North Texas next Tuesday at 7 p.m. inside Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville. The game will be available on SEC Network+.
